Let Us Help Your Smile!

The Benefits of Dental Restorations

Restorations are used to enhance, restore, or replace unhealthy teeth. With an appropriate restoration, you can expect:

Better Health – Restoring and replacing teeth ensures that your smile can function in a healthy way.

Less Pain – Tooth decay, dental damage, and missing teeth often have considerable health problems, including pain. Restorations strengthen the tooth and alleviates pain from normal activities.

Better Aesthetics – Restorations enhance your smile by repairing or replacing missing, chipped, or broken teeth.

Which Restorations Do You Offer?

Our office provides a broad range of restorative treatments, including:

Should I Consider Dental Implants?

If you’ve lost a tooth to damage or decay, failing to replace it can have serious long-term consequences. Dental implants can replace the entire tooth from root to crown. This restores the function to your smile and makes it easier for you to eat and speak normally.

Who Can Get Implants?

Most people who’ve lost teeth are eligible for implants, whether they are missing one tooth or many. The greatest requirement for dental implants is a strong jaw bone to provide support for an implant.

Once a tooth is lost, the body stops providing nutrients to the jaw bone area that supported the tooth. Over time, the bone weakens in a process called resorption. If the bone has shrunk, it may not have enough density to support an implant. In those cases, additional treatment, such as a bone graft, may be needed before implants can be placed.

What Can Implants Support?

Implants support a variety of restorations, including:

These restorations are customized to fit your needs, so that whether you’re missing one tooth, a group, or all teeth in an arch, dental implants can provide a new, healthy smile.

Renew Your Smile with All-on-4

If you need most or all of your teeth replaced, you may think you need dozens of implants to replace them. However, it’s possible to support an entire arch of teeth on four strategically placed implants.

To start the All-on-4 process, the dentist uses panoramic x-rays to map out your treatment. The placement is decided according to your bite function and where the jaw will provide adequate support for implants. If the jaw bone is too thin, bone grafting may be needed.

The four implants are placed and allowed to heal. After the healing period, the implants are topped with your custom restoration, creating a secure and functional smile.

Can You Get a New Smile in Just One Day?

With Teeth-in-a-Day, it’s possible! This procedure is designed to have you outfitted with implants and a complete restoration in a single visit. With all of the planning, preparation, and restorations finished beforehand, you can leave the office with a full and functional implant-supported smile.

This procedure is done on a case-by-case basis. If you are interested in teeth-in-a-day, schedule an evaluation with our office to find out if it’s a good choice for you.

What Can Crowns Correct?

Dental crowns are a highly versatile restoration, capable of addressing a wide variety of dental health needs. Crowns are placed over a tooth to protect it from decay, damage, and other threats. This makes them useful for teeth that are cracked, have had large cavities, or where a filling would be difficult to place. They can also be used to reshape a tooth, especially those that are chipped, worn, or misshapen.

Do I Need a Crown if I’ve Had Root Canal Therapy?

Root canal therapy helps to remove an infection that’s reached the inner tooth, allowing the tooth to be saved from extraction. After the treatment is completed, the inner tooth is filled in with a biocompatible material.

To protect the entire tooth, the dentist will cap it with a dental crown. This protects the structure of the tooth and restores your natural chewing function.

How Do Fixed Bridges Help Replace Teeth?

Fixed bridges can replace up to three teeth in a row by using the neighboring teeth as supports. The prosthetic teeth are attached to a crown on either side of the bridge, and the crowns are fitted over the teeth next to the gap.

Implant-supported bridges are also available, supported by jaw implants rather than other teeth.

Do I Really Need a Filling?

Tooth decay can happen to anyone, even adults. Plaque from bacteria is acidic and slowly eats away at the tooth enamel, causing decay. If that decay continues long enough, it compromises the tooth.

Fillings are used to restore the tooth once the decayed enamel is removed. This protects the tooth from more decay as well as strengthens it so that it can function normally. At our office, we use digital x-rays and intraoral cameras to show our patients where the cavities are, so they can be confident in the diagnosis and treatment recommendations they receive.

What is a Dental Onlay?

Dental onlays are like a cross between a filling and a crown. Like crowns, they are pre-fabricated in a dental lab. They are smaller than crowns and don’t cover the entire tooth.

Onlays are made to cover the tooth’s inner chewing surface and one or more of the cusps (points) of a tooth. They are most commonly recommended in situations where a filling would be too large or poorly positioned, but a full crown is not needed.

Dealing with Dental Anxiety: IV Sedation

Anxiety around dental care is unfortunately common. Often, people had a poor experience in childhood, or else they learned the anxiety from family members. It makes dental visits stressful for many people, and it can even prevent some people from receiving the care they need.

We understand how difficult it can be to visit the dentist when you feel anxious, and we want to help. Our friendly and compassionate team treats everyone who visits us with patience and understanding, and goes out of our way to help you feel relaxed and safe.

For those with significant anxiety or in need of complex treatment, our office provides an effective solution with IV sedation. Our doctor is certified in providing moderate conscious sedation, including dual drug sedation. This allows you to feel relaxed and at ease during your treatment while still being awake and responsive. While it does not make you sleep, many patients feel calm enough to sleep lightly and remember little, if anything, about their treatment experience.

With IV sedation, you can receive the care you need without unnecessary stress. Not only will your teeth be healthier, but having positive experiences may even help you to feel more comfortable visiting the dentist. Our certified doctor will be on hand to ensure that your sedation is safe and effective, and monitors you at all times during treatment.
